To Speak of Wolves – Myself< Letting Go

I was pretty excited to hear To Speak of Wolves’ Solid State debut, Myself< Letting Go. Their self released Following Voices ep was an outstanding post hardcore record. But where Following Voices was raw and interesting, Myself< Letting Go falls into the category of just being another metalcore record.

To Speak of Wolves doesn’t completely fall into the rut of screaming verse, sung chorus and the lack of breakdowns keeps Myself<Letting Go from being a complete metalcore throwaway record. But I find my interest waning when listening to the record. At times I'm reminded of Underoath (which makes sense given that their drummer is Spencer's brother). At other times I hear a less technical Inhale/Exhale. Myself< Letting Go isn't the worst record I've heard this year and it's a good listen and To Speak of Wolves have a ton of potential. But having heard Following Voices I was hoping for more.
