North Carolina metal band Joy has signed with Blood and Ink Records. Joy will release a new, five-song EP, titled Of Nothing, on June 17th. The band worked with producer Kris Hilbert, whose previous clientele includes Torch Runner and Between The Buried And Me.
Joy’s new song, “Hope Less,” premiered yesterday at Metalsucks.net. Andrew Langhans, Joy’s vocalist, had this to say about “Hope Less”:
“The lyrics of ‘Hope Less’ came about as I was overwhelmed and stressed about the direction my life was headed. The monotony of day-to-day happenings and the occasional feeling of being lost has made me wonder from time to time if I should lower my expectations on what my life will amount to. I realize this isn’t the most positive outlook, but it’s something I have wrestled with. I want my lyrics to be true to myself and honest with whoever listens.”
